      Hi game393ham,

I was studying for a PhD until now. Luckily my PhD studentship was through a scholarship from my university that covered my tuition fees and paid me a monthly stipend which is about 15,000 GBP every year. I worked part-time as a lab demonstrator and during exams as an invigilator, reader or scribe that paid about 9 to 10 GBP per hour. As of now, I’m looking for full-time jobs where the starting salaries can range from 20,000 to 30,000 GBP per year.

When you are a PhD student, you normally have a scholarship that will cover your tuition fees and a monthly salary around 1200£ per month.
Once you are a Dr, your income could reach around 50000-60000£ per year, depending on the job and field.

Hi there, I earn between 45-50k per year. If you get a PhD and work for 7-8 years after, this will be your salary in academia.
