I think it is a very difficult situation- it’s happened very quickly so it’s very difficult to know what the right thing to do is and when the right time to do it is. The advice to avoid social contact, isolate yourself if you have any symptoms and to wash your hands regularly is good and everyone should adhere to it as much as possible 🙂
I love the solidarity, and concern some people have been showing towards each other in their neighbourhood and society. I agree with some measures taken by some governments but not all especially those who are putting their citizens at risk. I do not agree with the panic buying and stockpiling of grocery items and food. The world needs to stay informed from the right sources and take responsible actions and not panic. I also feel it is important for everyone to remember that we are all in this together. Coronavirus is new and a lot of research is going on right now to understand it and find a cure until then we can only try our best to reduce the spread of the disease in every way possible.
I think in such uncertain times and with the limited knowledge we have on how to deal with COVID-19, we need to protect our citizens. One apsect that we are certain of is at this rate, it will claim the lives of many elderly people and those with other illnesses. Only time will tell whether strict isolation and social distancing will be effective in the long term.
